What Is Splenda?

"Splenda is cut with maltodextrin from corn. Probably DE5 which is what
Nutrasweet and Sweet n Low are cut with. DE5 is considered no calorie and
is the least sweetest of the maltodextrins. DE's range up to 100 or so. Above
that they are considered "Corn Syrup Solids".

The pure stuff Splenda is made from has been given the chemical name
"sucralose". They make it by replacing two of the molecules in sugar with
chlorine molecules. This renders the sugar indigestible. It's been used in
Europe for over 20 years with no side effects reported. The US was the last
in line to approve it. "
